The estate Serednikovo
The estate Serednikovo, a national historical and cultural memorial of the 18 c., invites you to spend here your free time, enjoying a beautiful white stone building on a steep bank of the river with a pond downstairs and two islands in the middle. Three wonderful stone bridges lead to a spring with the clearest water flowing under the shadow of old trees.
There are 16 buildings in the estate. All of them were kept since 18c. A beautiful park with a cosy Tea House and special places for picnics surrounds the Main House. Twisty paths lead from the park to the forest towards the church built in 17 c. The territory of the estate is 99 hectares.
The names of great people in Russian history and culture are connected with the estate. M.Y.Lermontov and P.A.Stolypin lived here. Among the guests there were F.Shaljapin and S.Rachmaninov, V.Serov and K.Yuon. Poets, musicians, painters and businessmen, all of them loved being here. Our guides tell visitors about the way of life of Russian nobles in 18 – 19cc.
At the end of 20c. the estate was about to ruin. But it was restored by “ National Lermontov Center in Serednikovo” which hired the estate in 1992 for 49 years and now our guests can enjoy the interior of the Main House.
